Personal Connection to Children & Families

Parent involvement is at the heart of the early intervention process. Families are empowered with strategies to support communication through everyday routines and play. Using a child-led, relationship-based approach, therapy focuses on meaningful interactions, emotional connection, and joyful engagement to help each child grow and communicate with confidence.

Why I Became an SLP

I became a speech-language pathologist through my love for child development and early communication. My first experience with Early Intervention began while working at a small, nurturing preschool, where I witnessed the incredible growth and discovery that happens during the earliest years of life.

Why Early Intervention Matters

The first three years of life are a critical period for brain development and communication growth. Early speech and language skills form the foundation for learning, social interaction, reading, and academic success. When communication challenges are identified and supported early, children are better prepared for everyday interactions and future learning. Early intervention helps children build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Experience & Background

My passion for working with children began in high school while supporting children with special needs, where I discovered the power of human connection. I continued studying child development throughout college and graduate school, leading me to become a speech-language pathologist. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible families, educators, and professionals who shaped both my personal and professional growth. Those experiences ultimately inspired me to create Little Lark — a practice grounded in connection, play, and helping each child find their song.
